Arriving at Paris CDG stress-free: a guide to a smooth transfer

Terminals, timings, traffic, documents: everything you need to collect your car at CDG and reach Paris calmly.

Paris-Charles de Gaulle is one of Europe’s largest airports. With a little preparation, though, your arrival can be one of the simplest moments of your trip.

Share your flight number

It is the most useful detail you can give us: it lets us track your plane, anticipate delays and know which terminal to meet you at.

Allow time for border control

For flights from outside the Schengen area, allow 30 to 60 minutes between landing and baggage reclaim. Your advisor factors this in and waits for you in arrivals.

Avoid rush hours

Between 7 and 10am, and 5 and 8pm, the drive into Paris can take twice as long. If you land at those times, a chauffeur lets you rest on the way.

Keep your documents handy

  • Driving licence (plus an International Driving Permit if needed)
  • Passport or ID card
  • Credit card in the main driver’s name
